Manuscript Editing
If you are a serious developing poet, it is often difficult to find another experienced poet to take the time to read your poetry with a critical eye, and willing to make recommendations. If you have a secret yearning for this type of one on one workshop, not a group workshop, I offer you that opportunity.
Unlike a work of fiction or non-fiction, editing a poetry manuscript can often be like herding cats. It requires intense teamwork between the poet and the editor. Intense thought and understanding are demanded of both poet and editor. If you have a manuscript of poetry you trying to prepare for submission, I provide intense editing services which include reviews of: a) spelling/punctuation, b) line structure and verse structure, c) book structure and layout, d) content, e) book title suggestions.
The editing process requires your interpretations, recommendations, and corrections. Some of your poems may be great as is, others may need a total re-write. I have written a ten page poem that improved ten times, when I eliminated half of the verses.
The charges for editing services are:
- A single review and critique - $2.00/page
- A workshop review (Includes two reviews and critiques) - $3.00/page
- If a third review session is required - $1.00/page
These services require a deposit equal to a single review and critique charge of $2.00/page. Payment may be mailed with your manuscript, or paid through my Pay Pal option. Payment must be received before any editing is done. If you want your original manuscript return, need to include a self addressed envelop with return postage. Please include a cover page with title and your name. Manuscript must have be clipped, not stapled, and in word format on 8.5 X 11 paper.

Workshop My Poems
Personal critiques of your poetry are available for $3.00 for the first 25 lines, and $2.00 for each additional 25 lines, or portion thereof, submitted. For personal submissions, please click the button below to send request to Herb Lowrey.
